AirRescue Magazine 4 | ULTRASOUND IN HEMS

Ultrasound in HEMS: First issue of 2012’s AirRescue Magazine

As the current issue of AirRescue Magazine shows, technological advancements shape the HEMS field to a large degree: this becomes also clear as one looks at high-quality ultrasound evaluations that are nowadays possible in pre-hospital settings and which facilitate a more efficient diagnosis and monitoring of patients outside hospitals. New technologies play an even more important role in the field of aircraft avionics: Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS) and helicopter assistance systems for controlling external loads (HALAS) as well as GPS-based approaches to hospitals are issues of great relevance in today’s HEMS world and they are covered in the current issue.

Furthermore, the March-issue of the AirRescue Magazine features the following topics:

  • EHAC: Outgoing President Mr. Breitenbach looks back over his time in office
  • Mechanical chest compression devices in HEMS – Blessing or curse?
  • Medical Care: Therapeutic Hypothermia in HEMS
  • Interview with René Closter (CEO of LAR): What’s so great about the Learjet 45XR?
  • Situational Awareness: Staying ahead of the aircraft
